| The FDA approved human Groshong line of central venous catheters offers the latest in technology. Unlike traditional open-ended catheters, the Groshong catheter has a rounded, closed tip and features the patented Groshong valve. The Groshong valve opens inward for blood aspiration and outward for infusion but remains closed when not in use. Because the valve remains closed when not in use, it literally seals the fluid inside the catheter and prevents it from coming in contact with the animals blood. Bard Access Systems offers catheters in a variety of French sizes as well as single, dual- and triple- lumen configurations. The Groshong valve technology is available on a variety of devices including implanted ports. The Broviac/Hickman lines of chronic, tunneled central venous catheters offer the time-tested standard for proven performance and reliability. Bard Access Systems catheters offer single-, dual- and triple-lumen catheter configurations. In addition to the SureCuff tissue in-growth cuff, these catheters are also available with the VitaCuff Antimicrobial Cuff. The VitaCuff Antimicrobial Cuff is designed to help protect against infection and aid in catheter securement.
