Tips:
- ALWAYS use non-DEHP extension Lines. DEHP [DI(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate] is a plasticizer (softener) that is typically added to increase the flexibility of the PVC line. DEHP can leak out of the PVC line into your solution and cause toxic effects in animals. The amount depends on the temperature, lipid content of the liquid and duration of contact with the extension line.
- There are hundreds of polyurethane elastomer formulations used to construct catheters and tubing. When choosing a catheter or comparing their performance, know what formulations you are comparing. The performance of the highest quality formulations have been stringently tested and perform at a much higher level than you may realize.

Catheter to Swivel Extension Lines

Polyurethane Extension Lines with catheter connectors or male luers to fit a wide range of swivels. These are used to connect the line from the animal whether it is an open catheter or a luered catheter to the swivel. For small animals, the connection is made with a stainless steel catheter connector and for large animals, it can either be a male luer fitting or a stainless steel catheter connector. |
